Breast Cancer affects many women in the UK directly and indirectly. As breasts are a symbol of femininity and sexuality, it is not unusual for a breast cancer patient to feel that the disease has attacked her body image along with her breast tissue.
Women can become self-conscious about their breasts and whether they have preserved their breasts, removed them or reconstructed them, learning to accept and even love a post diagnosis body is an emotional process. One cancer patient told us; "prior to my medical tattooing I didn't look in the mirror often, I didn't want to see how I looked but now I look and feel like a real woman again, I have my identity back".
There are psychological benefits of reconstructive surgery and those women who choose surgery experience a healther body image than women who do not. And for those women nipple tattooing is often the final touch to the reconstruction helping to maintain a positive body image.
Our Paramedical training covers the essential aspects of cosmetics such as nipple and areola reconstruction, scar relaxing and camouflage, pigment removal and Vitiligo reductions.
It's easy to forget how precious our health is as we rush about our day-to-day business. Those who have undergone treatment for Alopecia, Cancer or other serious illnesses such as these will know all too well how the effects of the treatment can seriously impact their lives.
Loss of pigment in the Areola area or complete loss of nipples - both of these can be treated by the use of medical tattooing. As a Nouveau Contour specialist you will be seen as an elite member of your profession.
The training will provide you with the foundations on which to build an excellent reputation and will open doors for many new opportunities. Nouveau Contour's paramedical training courses are the most comprehensive in Europe.

This pigmentation disorder is caused by an absence of melanin in the skin. We can disguise the white patches and even out a client's skin tone. The process works particularly well on the lip area and especially on darker skins.
Cleft Lip
There are various stages in disguising a cleft lip to recreate natural looking lips. Step one is to use MCA techniques (see below) to soften and relax the scar tissue. Next, we create a new, more symmetrical lip line and fill in with a natural lip colour that’s suitable for the client’s skin tone.
Fordyce Lips
Poor blood supply can cause discolouration of the lips as the glands lose their pigmentation and turn white. We will reintroduce pigment to the skin’s reticular layer to even out the lip colour and reinstate the lip shape.
Scar Relaxation & Scar Camouflage
Micro pigmentation procedures have the benefit of improving the look of scarring by breaking down the taut scar tissue and creating a more even-textured surface.
Advanced micro pigmentation techniques can diminish and disguise scars from either surgery or injury. We custom blend pigments that harmonise with the surrounding tissue and then implant them to make the scar less noticeable and reduce its contrasting, shiny appearance. It is important to have a realistic expectation when undergoing this procedure and there are considerations for Asian and darker skinned clients. Our team will be able to give you more information.
Burns
Burns are similar to scars in that the surface of the skin shrinks to give a tight, stretched appearance and is usually discoloured. Our techniques soften burns as we use micro pigmentation to blend the area in with the surrounding skin.
Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation (MCA)
This is a dry needling technique to help relax the white raised or stretched surface texture of burns and scars caused by an excess of sub surface collagen. The MCA techniques that we carry out break this layer down and activate the body’s self cleansing system to stimulate the re-growth of healthy collagen. The same procedure can also be used to reduce wrinkles!
Scalp Hair Simulation
Although this is not an answer to balding, we offer scalp hair stimulation techniques for small areas of hair loss, for example on scar tissue or to help camouflage donor areas following hair transplant operations.
Courses in medical tattooing are available to offer our technicians an opening into the satisfying area of scar camouflage, cleft lip re-shaping and nipple and areola re-pigmentation and the opportunity to work alongside the country’s top plastic surgeons and oncologists.
